So Long, Farewell, Aufwiedersehen, Goodbye- and Au Revoir!

Kelly Gray, Deputy Head (DSL, pastoral and English Curriculum) - 25 May 2021

The time has come to say goodbye.  I have loved every minute of my five years at Jacques Prevert and the huge excitement I feel in taking on my new role as headmistress of Bassett House School just a stone's throw away is tinged with a little sadness in saying goodbye.

Goodbye and Thank you

Thank you to all of the pupils, parents and staff who have made my time at JP so very special.  I wish you all the very best for the rest of your career at JP, and a very special well-wish to the CM2 pupils and those other pupils who are moving on to pastures new.

New faces; New roles

Please welcome to the team Mrs Emma Getty, who joins us as Deputy Head (Pastoral, Safeguarding and Language Learning) and congratulations to the wonderful Miss Julie Sheridan - who you all know- who will be taking over as Head of English.  I know they will both do the most wonderful job.

Children's Mental Health

It is a testament to the dedication of the Jacques Prevert team that a number of staff have committed hours of their precious free time to qualify themselves as Level 2 children's mental health first aiders.  Please join me in congratulating Madam Gingaud, Anais, Madam Sanders and Miss Sheridan for attaining this qualification.  It is great to know that we have staff on hand to notice signs that may indicate our children need a little extra support.

NSPCC- Speak Up, Stay Safe and PANTS

Over the last few weeks, I have been working with children across the school to let them know that they have a right to feel safe and happy and -if they do feel worried - the steps they can take on the journey back to happiness.  Children in Moyenne Section were taught that what is in our pants is private in a fun, age-appropriate and accessible way with 'Pantysaurus'.  For children from CP to CM2, children were taught how to recognise abuse and how speaking out until someone listens can change things for a child for the better.
